Emerging digital technologies offer new possibilities for artists, venues and creative professionals to create, perform and experience music, and opportunities for new revenue models. Despite the increasing interest in the sector for the use of these technologies, its potential remains largely untapped.
A new network
It’s time to join forces! Music Tech Netherlands connects artists, venues, creative professionals, tech companies, universities and knowledge institutions to learn, share knowledge and collaborate, to stimulate the development and sector wide implementation of new technologies and models. A new network which helps the music industry to boost, shape and explore innovation in partnership with the technological sector. Music Tech Netherlands is part of Music Tech Europe; a European ecosystem of similar ecosystems and networks.
Mission
Music Tech Netherlands unites all relevant stakeholders in an ecosystem which has collaboration, open innovation and knowledge sharing at its core, to strengthen the international competitiveness of the industry and take the lead to create new (international) opportunities for the sector. Given the current developments and existing initiatives operating on the intersection of music and technology, Music Tech Netherlands focuses on three main themes:
1. Creation: Innovating the way music is produced.
2. Live: Innovating the way music is performed, digitally (virtual worlds, extended realities and hybrid environments) and physically.
3. Distribution: Explore new ways to distribute and monetize music.
Launch in 2024
Music Tech Netherlands organizes four meetings in 2024. A kick-off meeting bringing together all relevant stakeholders, followed by three meetings where each meeting explores one of the three main themes. In these meetings, the needs of the network will be identified which serve as the building blocks for a strong ecosystem. Music Tech Netherlands will also focus on stimulating knowledge sharing, experimentation, research and investments, to build a thriving music tech ecosystem which pushes the sector to new heights.
