DDW x Music Innovation: Ramses3000 Live AV

Tijdens deze avond presenteert Ramses3000 samen met Studio Wotto een nieuw instrument, waarmee Ramses3000 ter plekke unieke visuals kan creëren die bij elke performance anders zullen zijn. Tijdens de première wordt het apparaat live ingezet en ontstaat er een vervloeiing van muziek en beeld. Naast de dromerige, kleurrijke visuals brengt hij werk van zijn laatste album 'Thalamus' live ten gehore, met ondersteuning van Clôture Électronique op cello.

Het artistieke parcours van multidisciplinair artiest Yannick Verhoeven, beter bekend als Ramses3000, staat in het teken van innovatie en culturele convergentie. Als Ramses3000 creëert de artiest muziek om tegenwicht te bieden aan de chaos van het dagelijks leven en de luisteraar te laten ontspannen. 
 
Na de interdisciplinaire tour rond zijn album 'Thalamus' langs musea en festivals, zocht de artiest een manier om zijn shows verder uit te breiden met een nieuw visueel element. Samen met Studio Wotto heeft hij binnen het Effenaar Lab-traject Hybrid Music Vibes gewerkt aan een nieuw instrument. Het combineert analoge en digitale visuele technieken en sluit naadloos aan op de huidige live set van de producer. Daarbij maakt het gebruik van de inkttechnieken uit de psychedelische liquid light shows van de jaren ’70, vertaald naar een hedendaagse vorm door de combinatie met generatieve audio-toepassingen en een bijpassende lichtshow. Tijdens de performance tonen ze hoe het apparaat werkt en welke mogelijkheden het biedt.

Het Hybrid Music Vibes-project biedt artiesten de kans om te ontdekken hoe nieuwe technologieën kunnen bijdragen aan hun kunstenaarschap. Het traject is een initiatief van Effenaar Lab in samenwerking met Rockacademie Tilburg, Thunderboom Records, Bureau Moeilijke Dingen, Studio Wotto en wordt ondersteund door Cultuurloket DigitALL.

The artistic career of multidisciplinary artist Yannick Verhoeven, better known as Ramses3000, is all about innovation and cultural convergence. As Ramses3000, the artist creates music to counterbalance the chaos of everyday life and allow the listener to relax. 

After the interdisciplinary tour around his album Thalamus along museums and festivals, Ramses3000 was looking for a way to further expand his shows with a new visual element. Together with Studio Wotto, he has been working on a new instrument within the Effenaar Lab Hybrid Music Vibes project. It combines analogue and digital visual techniques and fits seamlessly with the producer's current live set. In doing so, it uses the ink techniques from the psychedelic liquid light shows of the 70s, translated into a contemporary form by combining generative audio applications and a matching light show. During the performance, they show how the device works and what possibilities it offers.  

Hybrid Music Vibes offers artists the opportunity to discover how new technologies can contribute to their artistry. The project is an initiative of Effenaar Lab in collaboration with Rockacademie Tilburg, Thunderboom Records, Bureau Moeilijke Dingen, Studio Wotto and is supported by Cultuurloket DigitALL.
